NIGHT FLIGHT DVD SET over 100+ HOURS!!! The ultimate collection featuring the weirdest, coolest, and most hilarious segments from the classic 1980s all-night TV program. If you are not familiar with NIGHT FLIGHT it was produced when cable tv, and, specifically, music videos, actually took chances. On the USA Network on Friday and Saturday nights, was dedicated to providing surreal viewing pleasure for insomniacs. Nowadays, we have infomercials to fill this void, but there was once a place where seekers of the avant-garde could find something satisfying on television (of all places)… If you were one of the people who grew up in the early 1980s, chances are you either spent those years holding on for dear life to the decomposed remains of the beast that was known as disco…or you embraced the European invasion of punk/new wave culture that was rarely brought forth to the general public in America until this great show emerged. “Night Flight” was a brilliant clip-art collage of avant-garde music performances, abstract art films, and vintage Americana weirdness. This show was a complete revelation, a unique vision that was entirely conceptually revolutionary. When it’s 2am and I am flicking channels, skimming over the endless infomercials, I am looking for something, anything that might be as cool as Night Flight was. This is the TV show that introduced so much of middle America to cult movies, punk rock, reggae, deconstructionist video, and so much more. Television had never been so anarchic and probably never will be again. Sadly with the homogenization and demogrification of TV (as well as most media), we won’t see a show like this again. Infomercials now rule the late-night landscape and it is apt to stay that way, informercials bring in income, shows like “Night Flight” only brought in viewers, and who cares about them anymore? And due to copyright infringements by the show, they were very casual about obtaining permission to air stuff on ‘Night Flight’ it will probably never be shown on repeats, not as it originally aired anyway. With these discs, you can have something beyond your own memories of NIGHT FLIGHT to enjoy.

Atomic TV was what William Burroughs called a “cut up” or what we now call “mash videos” where tons of footage is almost randomly sliced and diced into a new whole with new meanings and fun. ATOMIC TV took old educational films, rock videos, presidential laughs and other stuff and re-arranged it into an hour long mind scramble about the Atomic Age. DATING DO’S AND DON’TS is the same sort of thing but about dating and so much funnier! Also includes a Marilyn Monroe profile, Schemge Brothers skit, THANK YOU MASKED MAN from Lenny Bruce, and THE BEATLES and THE KINKS on Beat Club!
